The service will provide technical forestry expertise to ensure that tree protection is consistently incorporated across the Agent's work.

Main Duties.
NMWTRA manages and improves the strategic A highways on behalf of the Welsh Government, ensuring that safety, environment and forestry are integrated into all aspects of the work.
The role of Forestry Professional Trainee will involve developing and maintaining processes and systems that ensure that technical forestry and tree protection issues are effectively integrated across all of the Agent's work.
The main duties of the role will be to:
Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure that forestry and tree conservation are taken into account in all work streams.
Undertake and supervise surveys, reports and technical carpentry to BS5837 and BS3998 standards across various teams.
Manage budgets related to technical forestry issues on the Strategic Road Network.
Collaborate with internal teams and with the Welsh Government on forestry and tree protection issues.
Assist with tree safety inspections when necessary.
Management and use of specialist environmental equipment such as PICUS, residrill and other inspection equipment.
Spend time in the Agent's other units to understand the wider operations of the organization.
Follow the Council's policies on health and safety, equality, data protection and carbon reduction.
