Main Duties
Assisting the Museums’ Development Officer leading day to day with Storiel's administration, customer care, running the site and supporting with organizing and running activities and events
Be a Team Leader and a day to day liaison to Site Assistants. Arranged an opening and closing rota of the building and front of a house. Develop the front of house team to give visitors the best experience.
Lead on the implementation of the marketing plan demonstrating expertise in the field. Manage Storiel's social media accounts. Adjust the marketing plan as needed. Contribute to Storiel's audience development plan (Degree or relevant experience required)
Welcoming visitors to Storiel, promoting the services, handling queries and providing information demonstrating good customer care skills including being welcoming and courteous to all users
Organise a rota and be a point of contact for volunteers.
Be a point of contact for room hiring procedures; Dealing with and responding to enquiries about hire, events, activities, miscellaneous queries, including handling and money and taking charge online and over the phone.
Coordinate and process the orders, payments and preparation of spaces according to the day's program with the support of the site aids.
Assist and support with/facilitate visits, activities and events including groups
Leading the general administration, the shop, galleries, refreshment space and reception and selling and recording the products of the spaces; administration of the till, money and stock management including basic account keeping and income banking
Analyze sales and general statistics about and report on them to the Museums’Development Officer and Manager.
Showcasing the store's merchandise in as attractive a way as possible and researching new artists, artisans and producers
Encourage and accept monetary donations
Be a day to day contact point to report to the Property/maintenance/suppliers and/or Development Officer department any defects on the building as required.
Cleaning and tidying up according to work plan and monitoring of the building
Ensure and adhere to food hygiene standards and rules and undertake any specific training in this area. Serving hot drinks, medal drinks, alcoholic beverages and short breakfasts to customers
Ensure order and security during visits, hire, activities etc including directing (and guiding if appropriate) users ( e.g. to the galleries ) and assisting with entry and exit issues
Be aware of fire rules and be able to assist in the safe evacuation of the building in an emergency
The post is based at Storiel but may be redeployed from time to time to assist in other Service organisations
Complete other tasks required under the strategic and operational control of the service
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at work rules in accordance with the responsibilities set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy

Special Circumstances
• Hours 37 hours Tuesday - Saturday. At times it is necessary to work out of normal hours for events/training/hire etc.
