This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Gwynedd's Social Work team.
As a Reflect Intervention Officer you will make a huge difference to the lives of individuals here in Gwynedd by assisting them to live their lives in the way they wish to live.
You will support individuals through social and personal difficulties, at the same time as promoting their human rights and well-being. You will work with individuals, supporting their relationships and families, groups and their links with the community. You will assist them to identify their strengths, develop their skills and work on issues or challenges they may be facing.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain their registration with Social Care Wales and be able to demonstrate skills in accordance with the Job Description and the Person Specification (attached).
Salary: S4 / PS1 / PS2 (dependent on experience)
L1 (Newly Qualified Reflect Intervention Officer) - S4 (pt 26-28) £36,124 - £37,938
L2 (Reflect Intervention Officer) – PS1 (pt 29-31), £38,626 - £40,476

The member of staff will be enabled to pass the salary thresholds in accordance with experience and performance.

Job Description
Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
•The Reflect Worker will be responsible for implementing a range of interventions and as part of an integrated package including health, therapeutic and social support.
•The Reflect Worker in particular will need to address the complex needs of women/mothers (and fathers), through intensive support, to enable change in their lives and, ultimately, to reduce the number of children being placed in care.
•Ensuring that the people of Gwynedd are central to everything we do.
•To work with children and their families in accordance with the Children Act 1989, Wales Safeguarding Procedures, Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Children in Need and their families Assessment Framework
Responsibility for functions
•Finance - Providing practical and appropriate advice and guidance to service users to facilitate effective financial management in the Service.

Main duties
Level 1 – Reflect Intervention Officer (General Duties)
•Practice within the relevant legislative frameworks and guidance that underpin the provision of social services in Wales
•Apply the Code of Professional Practice as a registered professional
•Consolidate and develop the skills and knowledge gained through formal qualification through mentoring and guidance of experienced practitioners.
•Attend relevant first 3 years in practice workshops and complete the Consolidation Programme. Work with mentor to develop practice.
•Actively participate in regular reflective supervision and consult with your line manager and other experienced colleagues. Continue to develop your practice through ongoing reflection.

•Work jointly within teams, networks and multidisciplinary and multi-organisational systems. Advise colleagues on complex work fields through the mentoring role.
•Exercise professional judgment and decision-making in complex situations. Support colleagues at different stages in their career to develop confidence surrounding professional judgement through the mentoring role.
•Manage ethical issues, dilemmas and conflict in complex situations. Support social workers at different stages of their careers to manage more complex matters through the mentoring role.
•Prepare and submit professional reports and records, ensuring that the information is correct, consistent and is shared securely and appropriately. Support social workers at different stages of their careers to develop their skills in writing reports and keeping records, through the mentoring role.

•Be a role model and share good practice, advice and support to enable team colleagues and less experienced social workers to develop their careers. This will include mentoring, working together on cases and supporting the service's quality assurance by inspecting and sampling files and practice and advising social work colleagues on specialist work fields, within the mentoring role.
