Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the centre of everything we do.
•To welcome the public, to supervise the museum and assist with visitors' enquiries.

Main duties
Gallery and Museum duties -
•Give a warm welcome to all visitors.
•Supervise the museum, whilst also making arrangements to open and close the building in accordance with the time-table.
•Promote the museum's work and deal with oral enquiries, telephone enquiries from visitors and guide groups from time to time.
•Assist with transporting the various exhibitions.
•Other corresponding duties in accordance with the Line Manager's instructions.
•Responsible for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
•The post is based in the Gwynedd Museum and Gallery, however, from time to time it may be re-located to assist with other organisations within the Service.
Occasional duties attached to the Tourist Information Centre -
•Deal and respond to general enquiries received over the counter either directly or by guiding the public through the computer system and/or the telephone link to Caernarfon Tourist Information Centre.
•Offer advice about activities, attractions and events in Bangor and the area or direct them to the Information Point on the computer system. Refer complex enquiries to the Caernarfon Tourist Information Centre.
•Keep the Information Point tidy and replenish and re-order pamphlets as required.
•Ask about and receive information from local attractions/providers/businesses about activities and events in the area.
•Assist with the work of promoting Gwynedd as a tourist destination.
•Record the number of tourism enquiries.
General -
•Responsible for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with workplace Health and Safety regulations in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s equal opportunities and equality policies.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management standards and guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint;
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsible for reporting any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
