RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Experience of working in a public or large organisation
• Experience working to tight schedules
• Experience of working either in social housing, or in a similar sector
• Experience of working on your own, planning and monitoring the progress of your own workload and meeting deadlines
• Experience of establishing and building working relationships with people from other departments, agencies and sectors
DESIRABLE
• Experience of collaborating with a range of stakeholders, e.g. officials, elected members, housing associations, voluntary organisations, the public
• Experience working with people in housing need
• Experience of working with, and understanding of the housing needs of vulnerable people
• Ability to work primarily unsupervised
SKILLS AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
• Ability to effectively organize, plan and prioritize tasks and workloads
• An understanding of the social housing and homlelessness sectors
• Good oral and written skills
• Able to plan and review workload, meet deadlines and performance standards
• Competent in the use of information technology systems, including packages such as Microsoft etc
• Experience of research by provocative data chassis and analysis and presentation of results
• Experience writing reports and delivering the content to a wide range of audiences
• Problem solving skills

• Operational knowledge in the following areas:
o Homelessness legislation – Housing (Wales) Act 2014
o Housing Allocations legislation - Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996
o Issues and challenges facing vulnerable people
o State Benefit entitlement

ESSENTIAL
Listening and Speaking - Higher Level
Able to follow a conversation or discussion through the medium of Welsh and English on a professional level and discuss general day to day topics in the field in order to present information and express opinions. Able to give a pre-prepared presentation and respond to any comments and questions on it in Welsh or English.
Reading and Understanding - Higher Level
Able to understand standard written Welsh and English; both formal and informal. Able to gather information from various sources such as letters, reports, articles through the medium of Welsh and English in order to fulfil the post.
Writing - Higher Level
Present written information confidently by letter, more detailed and technical report formats, and respond to written requests conveying information, ideas and opinion in Welsh and English (help is available to check the work).
