Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
•To guide the programme of exhibitions of visual arts and raise awareness of visual arts work within the County.
Responsibility for functions

•Responsible for the part-time Exhibitions Officer's work programme
•Line manager: Exhibitions Officer
Main duties
•Develop a visual arts service in accordance with the fine arts strategy.
•Organise a programme for Storiel art and community galleries in collaboration with the Museums and Arts Manager and Exhibitions Officer
•Organise an art exhibitions programme with the Area's Librarian in Canolfan Maenofferen Gallery, Blaenau Ffestiniog Library
•Organise contracts with artists and organise commission fees for them.
•Organise art workshops where required, educational events and visits in the context of exhibitions and be willing to speak with groups of the public and school groups.
•Contact craftspersons and artists and create a data bank of Gwynedd producers.
•Market and create an awareness of the visual arts service provided by the Service.
•Assist the Museums and Arts Manager with grant applications.
•Provide basic support to historic gallery exhibitions in the museums depending on availability and the gallery programme's timetable.
•Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the Service's galleries.
•When required represent the Service in meetings concerning the visual arts.
•Other equivalent duties according to the Museums and Arts Manager.
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
