QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT TRAINING
ESSENTIAL
HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic engineering or 5 years' industry experience or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
DESIRABLE
EngTech or IEng or similar professional qualification.
ILP (Institution of Lighting Professionals) Exterior Lighting Diploma.
City and Guilds qualification (City & Guilds 2382-10 18th Edition IET), or equivalent, in Highway Safety Inspections.
ECDL qualification in IT.
National Highways Sector Scheme 8.
Scottish Power/Western Power ERG39.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
Experience in electrical asset design, inspection and or maintenance.
DESIRABLE
Experience in design, inspection and or maintaining the following asset types:
- Street lighting;
- Tunnel/Underpass lighting;
- Illuminated signs (Fixed and vehicular activated signs);
- Traffic signal control;
- Street lighting Central Management Systems (CMS);
- Single phase and 3-phase low voltage private electrical distribution networks;
- Distribution Network Operator (DNO) assets.
Experience in managing budgets.
Supervision of contractors including valuation and approval of payments.
Experience in managing Traffic Signal Remote Monitoring systems (RMS).
SKILLS AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
IT skills use of Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word and Excel.
DESIRABLE
Experience of operating within relevant legislation. Identify priorities within work programmes
Knowledge of asset management systems and GIS Mapping
Working knowledge of the requirements of BS7671 17th Edition IET
Current Driving Licence
