Therapeutic Family Support Worker

Location: Hybrid (working across all 6 North Wales Local Authorities)

Contract Type: - 3 days / 22. h/week – flexible / 3years

The North Wales Adoption Service (NWAS) have an exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Family Support Worker. The post holder will work across the following areas Gwynedd/Anglesey, Conwy/Denbighshire and Wrexham/Flintshire.
 

The Therapeutic Family Support Workers role will include:

  • Form and maintain positive and effective working relationships with adopted children and their families
  • Work in partnership with members of the NWAS Team and other professionals and contribute to the assessment, planning and review of support to adopted children and their families
  • To use interventions aimed at a child’s presenting stage of development
  • Deliver 1 to 1 therapeutic packages of support for adopted children and their families
  • To work from your own initiative, in line with all risk assessments, and care plans to progress the therapeutic goals of individual children
  • Promote strong positive relationships, safe parenting and healthy lifestyles
  • Develop your professional skills as part of on-going development
