Purpose of the post
•Lead the Company in achieving the Company’s Purpose and Vision, by developing and delivering services and facilities that support and inspire the people of Gwynedd to live healthy lives
•Ensure the Company’s viability by developing a Strategy and Business Plans that make the best use of resources.
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
Responsibility for functions
•Responsible for every member of staff
•Responsible for finance, financial management and the Company’s financial viability
•Responsible for the appropriate use of equipment and buildings
Main duties
STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT:
•Develop and implement the Company’s business plans and ensure they are viable, and that they re-enforce and contribute effectively to Byw’n Iach Company’s strategic priorities
•To identify and lead on new commercial opportunities for the company
•To lead the development of the Company and ensure modern, fit for purpose and sustainable services that are also commercially viable
•To lead collaboration between partners and stakeholders in order to contribute and add to the Company’s purpose
•Responsible for the Company’s performance and and ensure that appropriate management arrangements are in place
LEADING AND MANAGING:
•To develop a culture that reflects our vision, values, priorities and our commitment to offer a bi-lingual services
•To motivate, encourage, and empower staff by conveying our vision effectively and therefore ensure the workforce contributes fully to achieving the business objectives
•To create the circumstances that allow staff to develop, innovate and venture, by concentrating on delivering the core business purpose
USERS AND CUSTOMERS:
•Ensure that customer needs are central to services and Company developments
•Responsible for customer health and safety and that appropriate safeguarding arrangements and policies are in place
•To lead on promoting healthy living within the community
GOVERNANCE:
•Work closely with Board members to ensure effective governance arrangements
•To advise the Board on developments relevant to the work of the company
•To ensure that appropriate risk management arrangements are in place
•To fulfil the role of Company Secretary
OTHER:
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Company’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Company’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Company’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Company’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
Special circumstances
-It will be necessary to work outside of normal office hours occasionally, to fulfil the requirements of the post.
