Job Description
Purpose of the Post.
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
• LleCHI LleNI is a project funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and partners to encourage community regeneration through heritage and to support communities to benefit from the inscription of the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales as a World Heritage Site. The post holder will work alongside the LleCHI LleNI Project Manager and the LleCHI LleNI Learning and Skills Development Officer to deliver the project programme of activities and events.
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the centre of everything we do.
• To be responsible for the Interpretation and Community Engagement elements of the LleCHI LleNI project, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, to support the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales World Heritage Site.
• The LleCHI LleNI project has an operational emphasis on engaging and consulting with communities, businesses, stakeholders and strategic partners, on developing regeneration structures and projects, holding events, identifying monitoring and evaluation methods.
Responsibility for functions . e.g. staff, budgets, equipment
• Responsibility for the LleCHI LleNI scheme budget in relation to the Interpretation and Community Engagement and for monitoring budgets and activities of Llechi Cymru projects in accordance with the approved purposes.
Main Duties
• Fulfil the role of project management for the Interpretation and Community Engagement elements of the project by drafting and contributing to documents of high standard, including but not restricted to; the project plan, the risk log and progress reports. There will be a need to ensure that all the documents continue to be current throughout the project.
• Responsibility for the Interpretation and Community Engagement budget and for ensuring that all the activities are provided within the budget, as well as responsibility for commissioning work associated with the scheme and manage those contracts in accordance with the Council's procurement arrangements.
• Identify, communicate, collaborate and engage with communities, businesses, stakeholders and strategic partners.
• Learn from good practice and create contacts with other similar projects.
• Ensure that the activities of LleCHI LleNI, and any associated activities are promoted effectively to a wide audience and ensure that a wider range of people are involved with heritage.
• Monitor, evaluate and collate information to be able to report back to funders on the outcomes of the LleCHI LleNI scheme, and provide progress reports as the need arises.
• Organise various events.
• Support and engage with communities and bodies to identify, develop, learn and make the most of their history and heritage, ensuring that heritage is noted and better explained, and leads to change in ideas and values.
• Organise, attend and contribute to public meetings, seminars and briefing sessions as required
• Responsibility for self-development.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
• Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
• Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
