Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
•Increase participation in sport and physical activity of Gwynedd residents, targeting those who face specific barriers
•Contribute to Byw’n Iach vision and strategy that all residents are a customer, all families to improve their health and wellbeing and all communities benefit
•Contribute to Actif North Wales strategy

Main duties
Research and Planning
•Research and review relevant data and use insight to identify barriers that prevent people in Gwynedd participate
•Connect with specific target groups to understand their needs and to co-plan solutions
•Work in partnership with others to maximise resources to design Solutions to specific barriers
•Prepare applications for funding to ensure realisation of projects
•Collaborate and create strong links with key partners in order to be able to expand the provision available in the Community
•Manage and implement projects
•Lead and manage projects to increase participation
•Monitor expenditure and manage project budgets
•Arrange and contribute to relevant events
•Plan, lead and evaluate sessions and activities of high standard and be a role model to inspire others to be active
•Operate as a mentor and tutor to develop skills and knowledge of volunteers and colleagues in the sector
•Ensure that everything that is offered/delivered is inclusive to everyone by adopting the INSPORT philosophy
•Work effectively as part of a number of teams within the company and across the region
•Co-operate creatively with Byw’n Iach Marketing Officers to create and promote promotional materials regarding projects e.g. social media, Byw’n Iach website, direct link with groups and school, video’s etc
Monitor and learn
•Collect and input performance data to monitoring systems e.g. Upshot
•Create and present reports that report on project performance and share what has been learnt, including creating case studies .
General
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
