Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
•Assist to provide an effective, efficient and economic service to its users.
•Provide a administrative support service with a specialised service for the recording of burials in the Council’s Cemeteries.
Responsibility for functions
•Any equipment, vehicle, plant or materials associated with the responsibilities undertaken.
•Responsible for the Burial Record Registers for the Council’s Cemeteries.
Main duties
•Specialised Administrative work for the burials in the Council’s Cemeteries and provide performance indicators for the Service.
•Undertake any other duties as required in order to assist in the delivery effective and efficiently.
•Deal with any correspondence, maintain filing systems and assist in providing and administrative Service which includes typing etc.
•Deal with any enquiries requesting the Service and assist the inspector to ensure the appropriate records are recorded for the Service.
•Assist in providing appropriate statutory inspections for the Bereavement Service and other Municipal Services.
•Deal with any specialised records for burials, applications for burials and memorials as well as their presence in funerals if required to ensure statutory procedures as followed.
•To deal with the arrangements of the ‘shortfall in the accounts’ for the Bereavement Service in Meirionnydd.
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsibility to report any worry or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
Special circumstances
•Be able to call on the postholder to work outside normal working hours in order to meet the requirements of the Service and emergency situations.
