Purpose of the Post.
Provide support to the Tunnel Safety and Resilience Manager to provide specialist advice to the Trunk Road Agent regarding resilience management issues relating to the trunk road network to ensure a robust and proportionate response to emergencies is provided ( e.g. bad weather and events) and in accordance with the Welsh Government's requirements to ensure the safety of network users.

Main Duties
The successful individual will be part of an experienced and dynamic team and collaborate with officers with experience in various disciplines such as civil engineers, ecologists and project managers.
This role will ensure provision of specific risk management advice to the road maintenance field for years to come. In addition, it will enable the agency to prepare for climate change and more extreme weather events.
Assist in identifying network resilience issues and measures to reduce network risk and operation. This will include, for example: Flood risk, Pollution risk, Fire Risk, Poor weather risks including winter maintenance, Road traffic collision, Congestion, Tactical and strategic diversions
Site visits to work sites on the trunk road network
Assist other NMWTRA staff during emergency incident response and management
Collaborate with officers experienced in a variety of disciplines such as civil engineers, ecologists and project managers
Be part of an experienced and dynamic team
Developing a resilience training programme
Understand and take on plan management duties on standby
Work with multi-agency partners to develop contingency plans and participate in exercises.
Basic requirements to complete as part of the job:
Work closely with the tunneling team to assist the Tunnel Safety Officer.
Holding meetings/de-briefing about the emergency events
