Main Duties
Overview
The North and Mid Wales Trunk Roads Agent (ACGCC) who works on behalf of the Welsh Government, is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the road network in North and Mid Wales. The agency has almost 200 staff in our offices across the north and mid-west including Bangor, Conwy, Helygain, Wrexham, Dolgellau, Llandrindod, Newtown and Aberaeron. The apprentice will be based in any of these offices during their employment.
All ACWCC and Gwynedd Council apprentices are expected to demonstrate the following:

Here is an overview of the main duties of the job:
Use computer systems that are used by civil engineers
Being part of small engineering projects in partnership with local authorities and private companies
Helping with the front line maintenance of the trunk roads
Understand the different duties and standards we have to work towards
Spend time with the Environment Team to see how we can preserve or improve biodiversity
Work with the Traffic Officer Service to help with live event management
Meeting of the team in our control room in Conwy who manage our signs and electronic systems on the lane
Understand how we collect information about new and historical assets
Understand how we balance engineering requirements with protecting the environment and improving biodiversity
Work closely with specialists who deal with third party applications, budgets, street work management and health and safety
As a member of ACWCC and Gwynedd Council staff, you have the following responsibilities:
Responsibility for self development
Ensuring that Health and Safety rules in the workplace and the Health and Safety policy of CSSW and the Council are followed
That you follow the equal opportunities and equality policies of ACWCC and the Council
Responsibility for managing information appropriately and ensuring that personal information is handled appropriately
Commit to the Carbon Management Plan and encourage people to reduce the carbon footprint of ACWCC and the Council
Responsibility to report if you suspect a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
Special Circumstances . e.g. the need to work unsociable hours, special working arrangements etc.
During the apprenticeship, you will need to travel to the college site during the academic year
Sometimes, you will need to work outside working hours to complete certain activities e.g. be present during tunnel closures
