Main Duties
Overview
YGC was established in 1996 and we are now the largest Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering consultancy in Wales run by a Local Authority. We work with a number of clients in the public and private sector. YGC has been able to offer very good career opportunities supporting and giving opportunities to its staff. As an apprentice in the information technology field you will have various experiences within the service and see all the services that are provided.
All Gwynedd Council apprentices are expected to demonstrate the following:

Here is an overview of the main duties of the job:
Support the team to provide technical support to others
Share new ideas and identify how the service can do things better
Support the team to ensure that elements of work are completed on time and to a high standard
Manage workload to achieve targets
Share ideas when new decisions are made
Share ideas to develop new ways of working
Have an opportunity to share ideas about the business planning process
Ensure performance and improvement targets are met or improved
Communicate effectively and discuss information technology with all levels across the Council
Develop clear ways of describing projects
As a Cyngor Gwynedd member of staff, you have the following responsibilities:
Responsibility for self-development.
Ensure that the Health and Safety rules in the workplace and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy are followed
Follow the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
Responsible for managing information and to ensure that personal information is treated appropriately
Commit to the Carbon Management Plan and encourage people to reduce the Council’s Carbon Footprint
Responsibility to report any suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
Special Circumstances . e.g. the need to work unsociable hours, special working arrangements etc.
- Over the course of the apprenticeship, travel to the Coleg Cambria site will be required during the academic year.
- The apprentice will be required to work outside normal office hours at certain times.
