LISTENING AND SPEAKING - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Able to maintain a fluent conversation on a number of various everyday subjects,and discuss cases involving the field of work.
Able to follow a discussion in Welsh, in Clear Welsh, on familiar matters relating to the post. Able to contribute to the conversation and answer questions.

READING AND COMPREHENSION - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work.
Understand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points. (help may be required with the vocabulary).

WRITING - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Able to write letters for a specific purpose, e-mails and short reports in Welsh and English, using vocabulary and simple phrases that are familiar to the field of work. (They will need to be checked before being sent out).

Main Duties 

Overview

There will be an opportunity for the successful individual to join dedicated teams to support Gwynedd learners. The program will be specifically designed to provide a better understanding of career opportunities and pathways in the field of Inclusion and Additional Learning Needs.

All Gwynedd Council apprentices are expected to demonstrate the following:

Understand exactly what it takes to work for the Council

Here is an overview of the main duties of the position:

As an Apprentice in the field you will gain diverse experiences within the Service, including:

Time in specialist units
Working in schools
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Supporting pupils with behavioral difficulties
Support in the preparation of resources
Supporting specialist Teachers
Shadow welfare officers

Child Protection:

Act in accordance with the requirements of the All Wales Child Protection Guidelines, the children's act and the Social Services and Well-being Act

Responsibility to report a concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused

As a member of staff at Gwynedd Council, you have the following responsibilities:

Responsibility for self-development

Ensuring workplace Health and Safety rules and Council Health and Safety policy are followed
