Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
•Promote and support a healthy way of living for those who use the Centres and the wider community.
•Ensure that those who visit the Centre can use it safely, whilst offering a high standard of customer care.
•Receive experiences and support in the workplace to complete an apprenticeship and gain qualifications in the field of Sports and Leisure.
Responsibility for functions
•Prepare equipment and facilities by setting up and completing reasonable maintenance tasks.
•Deal with money and stock in accordance with the company's arrangements.
Main duties
•Plan and lead sport and fitness activities in a motivational and inspirational method.
•Engage with the customers in order to identify their objectives and their wishes as well as following a healthy lifestyle.
•Promote the Centre’s services and products to customers and prospective customers.
•Undertake reception duties as required.
•Provide a high standard of customer care.
•Undertake cleaning tasks and ensure high standards of cleanliness.
•Ensure the public are supervised safely in a polite and courteous way including lifeguarding responsibilities in wet centres.
•Set up and take down equipment in accordance with the programme requirements.
•Promote the Welsh language within the Centre by using it as the main language in the workplace.
•Responsible for self-development, including completing any relevant modules on the Apprentice qualification as well as attending and completing any additional training arranged.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Company's information management standards and guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Company’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Company’s Carbon Footprint.
•Be responsible for reporting any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
Special circumstances
•The post-holder should be flexible about work pattern/shifts and the work locations.
•There will be a need to work shifts including work in the evening and on weekends.
