Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the centre of everything we do.
•The main duties of the post will be to assist the Head with the management and order of his/her function and give support at a corporate level.

Main duties
•Due to the nature of the post, the post-holder will be expected to work at a professional level and will deal with management and matters of a confidential and sensitive nature. He/she will also deal with people at all levels in a courteous, sensitive and professional manner.
•In addition to giving daily clerical support to the Head, the post-holder will organise meetings, prepare and co-ordinate reports and respond to correspondence promptly and effectively.
•The post-holder will be expected to take minutes at meetings and having basic translation skills will be essential.
•The post-holder will also be expected to operate and assist with the development of administrative systems within the Central Office e.g. filing systems, forwarding and letter tracking.
•As part of the secretarial duties to the Head, it will be necessary for the post-holder to work very closely as part of the Central Office team and to build a good relationship with all department staff and keep in contact with relevant staff in other departments of the Council as well as external bodies.
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with workplace Health and Safety regulations in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s equal opportunities and equality policies.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management standards and guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsible for reporting any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
