About the Role

WLGA is developing a Transition and Recovery Support programme for local authorities, funded by Welsh Government. The programme is intended to help local authorities as they plan for transition to a greener, post-covid recovery through the provision of support, advice, guidance, and a collective voice on these issues. Part of the programme is focused on mitigation, based on the four themes of Welsh Government’s decarbonisation route map: procurement, transport, buildings and land use. In addition, the programme aims to provide advice and support on adaptation/resilience, dealing with food, energy and water security, flood risk management and other issues anticipated as a result of increased frequency of extreme weather events.

This post will be responsible, specifically, for supporting stakeholder engagement and efficient communication for the WLGA Transition and Recovery Support Programme.

For an initial discussion about the role and the organisation, please contact Neville Rookes,

Policy Officer - Environment on 07771 347829.

To apply, please send a covering letter with a completed application form by the closing date of Monday 18th April 2022 to:
