WELSH GOVERNMENT FEBRUARY / MARCH 2021 RESTRICTIONS BUSINESS FUNDS

Discretionary Grant Application Form

UPDATE:
The Funds have now closed to new applications. Applications already submitted are still being assessed.

This fund is to support businesses and sole traders directly impacted by the extension of the Alert Level 4 restrictions announced on the 29th of January.

The purpose of the funding is to provide businesses with cash flow support to help them survive the economic consequences of the extended restrictions.

Businesses can only apply for one Discretionary Grant under this extended scheme. Multiple applications from the same business are not allowed.

However, this extended scheme is in addition to the Discretionary Grant businesses may have received for the December 2020 / January 2021 period.

The Grant seeks to complement other measures to support businesses, social enterprises and charitable organisations in Wales.

A discretionary grant of £2,000 is available to assist businesses that have:

  • been forced or required to close as a result of the national restrictions that were introduced during December 2020 and extended on 29 January 2021
  • OR
  • are able to demonstrate that the latest restrictions will result in at least a 40% reduction in their estimated turnover for the extended period as compared to an equivalent restriction free trading period prior to 23 March 2020

You are not eligible for this grant if:

  • You are eligible for, or have received, the Restrictions Business Funds NDR Grant from your Local Authority
  • If the business generates less than 50% of your income. The business must be your main source of income.
  • You are eligible for a ‘top-up’ payment via the extended Culture Recovery Fund Freelancer grant. (If you are unsure about this, please check with your local authority).
  • You have been awarded a Welsh Government Children and Communities grant to cover operating losses between September 2020 and March 2021.
  • The total amount of COVID-19 support grants you have received (including any award through this fund) exceeds 80% of your turnover for a typical year of trading

Make sure you read the guidance document before you apply.

If you have not previously received funding related to COVID-19 from Cyngor Gwynedd, to help us check your identity, you will need to provide an electronic copy of a recent bank statement which shows your name, address and details of your account.

The Grant will be open to applications from 10pm on 12 February 2021 and will close at a date to be specified by the local authority or when the fund has been fully committed.
