LETTER from J.T. Hughes, 34 High Street, Bala to Mrs Lloyd Price stating that he cannot accept the cheque for the poor rate as she has deducted certain items; as she will be aware, no deduction can be allowed from the poor rate assessment, without the authority of the assessment committee, to whom notice of objection must be made; as well as to the overseers; if she has a grievance, she should bring the matter before the assessment committee.
