LETTER: E.M. Edmunds, 39 Willow Street, Oswestry, to Miss Ellen Edwards, giving her details of his application to the vacant pastorate of Portland Street Congregational Chapel, Southport, and the case for and against him being voted to the pastorate. He writes of his admiration for her and believes her to be eminently qualified for the position of a Minister’s wife. Asks her if she would have any objection to him corresponding with her in the hope that, eventually, he would have the honour of proposing marriage to her. Asks her to consider his proposal.
