LETTER: David Williams, Broneryri, at London to Lord Newborough. Williams reports that the Porthdinllaen Railway project has been passed through the standing committee without hitch. He informs his Lordship that Poole and a party from Caernarfon are in London on behalf of the Harbour Trustees to oppose the Menai Bridge. He also understands that they mean to oppose the Porthdinllaen railway with a view to getting the terminals nearer Caernarfon. Williams writes that Sir Charles, who is in touch with the Government, has informed him the Government will not make Holyhead a Harbour of Refuge and Williams hopes, therefore, that Porthdinllaen will become a government terminal.
