LETTER: Owen Williams, of Liverpool, to Lord Newborough. Williams apologises to his Lordship about the quality of the last batch of coal sent to Glynllifon. He excuses the error by explaining that canals at the time were frozen, so coal for his Lordship had to be supplied from two year old stocks already in the coal yard. Williams makes further references to the coal trade, giving details of packet ships sailing to New York with coal cargoes from Liverpool every five days.
