The colony is badly governed and the frontiers are invaded by hordes of savages. Many of the farmers have now settled on land outside the British colony and are stopping the caffers from trifling with them. ’No doubt the restless & Warlike Caffer will soon give sufficient provocation for the Boors to commence a War of extermination and then indeed horrid will be the sacrifice of Human life’.
