PETITION: Thomas Jones, Llanerchymoch and Robert Lloyd, Ffestiniog to Lord Newborough, writing a letter of petition on behalf of the lately employed quarrymen of Maenofferen Quarry, Ffestiniog. The 130 petitioners have lost their work after an unforeseen event, after working 11 weeks without pay. Most of them have large families with a low living standard and nothing to fall back upon except day labour, with 16 of them paying rent to his Lordship. Their demand to his Lordship was £622.4.6½, of which £130 has been paid leaving nearly £500 yet to be paid, which the petitioners are in need of.
