LETTER: William Parker, Holborn [London], gunmaker, to Lord Newborough, re the barrels and locks which his Lordship sent to him. He did not send the stock, however, and without this the nipples and the cocks could not be fitted accurately. He hopes that his Lordship will send him these parts, which he will return in three or four days. He remembers making nipples for the gun in question two or three years before. He reports that the threads for the nipples were never perfect, and the metal was so thin that he could not retop it. He also feared that his Lordship would require new plugs to the barrels and that the gun was made of very poor materials.
