LETTER: W.G. Griffith, Bodegroes to Lord Newborough, [originally] sending a copy of the correspondence which he had been engaged in with the solicitor for the Trustees of the Caernarfon Harbour and Mr. Rumsey Williams on the dispute re his Lordship’s quay. He suggests that his Lordship was to write to him stating that he had received his letter with a copy of the resolution entered into by the trustees for the Caernarfon Harbour at their meeting 3 February and Mr. Williams’ solicitor’s letter with a request for his Lordship’s opinion. He suggests that in answer his Lordship suggests that as a similar question was being discussed by the Corporation of Liverpool respecting the shares of the river Mersey it would be better to await the opinion of the Court on this case. His Lordship should suggest that if this was not acceptable he would pursue the course presribed by his legal advisers. He [originally] enclosed a communication from the gardener at Glynllifon from which his Lordship would see that Messrs. Whitley & Co., wanted their account discharged. He suggests that his Lordship send them an order on Messrs. Coutts. He had two lists of money on repairs to the Glynllifon and the Abbey estates for which he needed to give his acceptances. He had, at the request of Messrs. Farrers, given them a statement for the appropriation of the loan, which they would submit to his Lordship. He could not go to Caernarfon until he had the means to discharge the election accounts. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 4664]
