LETTER: Farrars and Co., Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, to George Bettiss, Caernarfon, stating that he would be aware of the object of the application respecting Lord Newborough’s purchase but that the proposal made in their letter was a compromise. Bills would be filed to set aside many other of the contracts for purchase entered into by Messrs Wyatt on the grounds that they had no right to sell. The auctioneer employed by Messrs Wyatt had failed and they had paid a deposit of £800. Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt were not worth a shilling. He would therefore see the object of their question. They ask if Col. Burrowes resided in the neighbourhood and whether he had a solicitor in London. An attempt would be made to set aside his contract - it would be desirable for Lord Newborough and Col. Burrowes to act in concert. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 2996]
