LETTER: Farrar and Co., Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, to Mr. George Bettiss, Caernarfon, [originally] enclosing two bank post bills for £600 to pay the remainder of Morris Jones’ purchase money. They ask him to see that the conveyance was properly executed and that he had the purchase deed with the mortgage to Mr. Humphrey Jones, and any other title deeds before paying the money. They ask that all the papers be sent to them. They were pleased that he had agreed with Mr. Prichard for the six acre lot, although, if it formed part of the estate they purchased at Garraways, it would take a long time for the title to be cleared. They had got the agreement stamped and asked for the conveyance. They felt that Mr. Jones of Beaumaris [Biwmares] had obtained an advantage over him by a pretended negotiation with Mr. Maughan, who they were sure would never have bought the property at the extra rate. As the offer he made had been accepted the trustees would abide by it. They would, accordingly, get Mr. Jones’ letter stamped as an abstract but if possible Mr. Rowlands must pay the £700 deposit as the trust account as Mr. Coutts’ would not be sufficient. [N.L.W.
