LETTER: J Mander, at North Aston, near Woodstock, [co. Oxon], to James Farrar Esq., Lincoln’s Inn Fields, [London], re Lord Newborough’s adjusting of his affairs, and his plan for doing this, namely by selling his Lordship’s house in Portland Place and lands in co. Denbs. held in fee, which should bring in £40,000, an overplus of about £2000. As some creditors are pressing and sales take time, he suggests conveying the Denbighshire lands to Trustees on trust to sell the requisite amount. Mr. Coutts would pay off the most pressing debts by making advances. He expects the house in Portland Place to realise around 4,000 guineas.
