LETTER: Joseph Peers, Ruthin, to Lord Newborough re the Ruthin Charities. At the suggestion of the Charity Commissioner he had been directed by Mr. West, Mr. Thelwall and the Warden (Co-trustees with Lord Newborough) to send a copy of the memorial to the Commissioners, a copy of the reply and answer, and he asked his Lordship for his opinion. He had not sent copies of the documents referred to in the answer. Enclosed: COPY MEMORIAL (24 Nov. 1853): by Joseph Peers Ruthin, on behalf of the trustees, to the Charity Commissioners re their proposals for the amalgamation of the Trust of Bishop Goodman, particularly those re Ruthin School. COPY LETTER: (20 Dec. 1853): Henry M. Vane, Charity Commission, 20 Duke St., Westminster, to Joseph Peers, Esq., re the Ruthin Charities asking for a detailed statement of the receipts and expenditure for each of the Charities for the previous two years, and for many other details of the administration of the trust, including the number of boys at the school, the opinion of the school re the amalgamation and the method of selection of the boys. COPY LETTER: (20 Jan. 1854): Joseph Peers, Ruthin, on behalf of the trustees to Henry M. Vane, Esq., 20 Duke St., Westminster, London, giving details requested by Mr. Vane in the above letter.
