Rentals Note: There is evidence that rent-rolls for the various constituent parts of the family estate were regarded as separate series of documents, especially prior to the coming of age of the second Lord Newborough, although composite rentals dealing with more than one part of the estate also exist. From circa 1824 onwards, it appears that a much more organised system was maintained, of having three separate rentals for the Glynllifon, Bodfuan and Abbey/Menai estates, drawn up in common form. For ease of reference, all pure rentals have been grouped here in chronological order. Agents’ Accounts which include of lists of rents and disbursements are not included here, but under a later section of agents’ accounts; but rentals with appended accounts (where the rental appears to be the prime content of the document) are included here.
