LETTER: W. Jones, 7 Crosby Square, London, to Lord Newborough stating that the trustees had no intention of giving away any part of the personal effects of the late Sir Robert Williams Vaughan, baronet, other than in accordance with the trusts of the will. Certain things were done at Rhug, 13 May 1859, in furtherance of the trusts but with the agreement of his Lordship and his son’s representatives. There was no doubt about the bequest of the Hengwrt plate or that the manuscripts were to go to Mr. Wynne. He discusses the possible interest of his Lordship’s son in the residuary personal estate. Appended: NOTE by Lord Newborough that he did not intend to get counsel’s opinion as he would rely on Mr. Jones as he had ’a cordial understanding’ with Mr. Vaughan. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 2593.]
