LETTER: Robert Davies to [William Salesbury], requesting him to loan £10 to the writer’s cousin, Thomas Johnes, who is in durance for this sum to Mr. Thomas Theolwall; and he guarantees the said sum. Appended: 1. RECEIPT (2 September 1640) of David Lloyd for £10 received from Mr. Salesbury. 2. LETTER (n.d.): William Salesbury to Mr. Davies, agreeing to the loan of money and directing it to be paid to Rees ap Robert Griffith. Endorsed: LETTER (25 September 1640): William Salesbury, Bachynbyd, to [Robert Davies]. Cousin John Wynn says it is not safe, without seeing the original deed, to deal with Peers if the rental be for more than £20. £10 should thus be paid to the bearer, Humphrey ap John, as he needs the money.
