He maintains that when questioned, Richard Thomas accused Edmund Owen and Owen ap Richard of cutting down trees in a tenement called "Hendre". EXAMINATION of John Robert of Castell, labourer who admits collaboration with Richard Thomas ap Hugh in the theft of boughs and admits to tethering a cow and a calf to helme made of the boughs. DEPOSITION of Marie Davids of Castell, who claims to have seen Edmond Owen of Gweredros carry three trees within the jointure lands called Bryn Tydur, in the occupation of Owen David Lloyd, to the estimated value of three pounds. The trees are not worth three pounds in his estimation. DEPOSITION of John David Lloyd of Gweredros who cites Elisabeth Thomas, tenant of the jointure lands, wife of Amrbos Thomas, as accusing Owen ap Richard, son of Richard Owen Lloyd, in March last, of cutting down a tree in his father’s wood, and accusing him of coming to the close mentioned, or near to it, cutting down more trees and bringing them to Margarett Williams at Conwey [Conwy]. DEPOSITION of Owen David Lloyd, tenant on the jointure lands, who states that he came to Ambrose Thomas whom he had seen cutting down the boughs of a tree. In reply A.T. accuses Owen Richard of having cut them and having thrown them onto his father’s adjoining land, and cites his own children as witnesses. EXAMINATION of Ambrose and Elisabeth Thomas. A.T. denies having spoken to Owen David Lloyd but admits having cut down some trees to warm his children. E.T. denies having spoken to John David Lloyd about the removal of trees by Owen ap Richard.
