LETTER: F. Roche, Tregunter, Talgarth, Breconshire, to [W.E. Morris] stating that the Maenofferen, Votty and Bowydd and Cwmorthin Companies were nearly a year in arrears and needed reminding that credit for the payment of slate duty could only be given on the understanding that they settle punctually at the end of each quarter. If these companies had not paid within a month the dues would have to be collected upon the shipping of the goods as under clause XV of the Harbour Act 1821.
