He had to pay 16/- for a book so he is short of cash to pay for his lodgings the following week, and he will have to pay 16/- again for another book. Asks his parents to send him £3. He remarks on the letter with the nice present his parents received from America. He has had the loan of 7 books but must buy the rest for £3-£4. He tries to obtain second hand books. Is going to write to Thos. Toleman and sends his regards to Owen Evans and his other friends.
