LETTER: Robert Pritchard, 327 East 12 St., care of Mrs. Parry, New York, to his brother writing his second letter. He has received letters from home, from David and Owen and John Hughes. Richard Jones, a painter from Caernarfon arrived in America two months ago. He got him work and lent him money until he settled down. He will soon get something better to do as he is a clever fellow. James C. Williams left Iowa City and is doing better in the slate quarries. Edward Davies was discharged for drinking at work and has gone to work at Pittsburgh, the same place as Richard Parry. He likes his work better every week as the foreman is a kind man. Writes what a great country America is for the working man. The crime rate is high in New York with only one in twenty criminals being punished for offences. Sends his regards to the family and little David. There had been a picnic there of about 900 Welsh people including descendants of families from Wales.
