LETTER: Edward Lloyd, esq., Rhagett, Vron [Bala] to Mr. John Williams, Tremadog. Since he saw JW he has heard from both Mr. John and Mr. Williams Madocks and he does not feel at all authorised to act for or to recommend anything to the latter without informing with the former. If JW’s zeal and most laudable anxiety for the welfare of his employer and the well being of the concern everyone must be convinced, but the sender must decline taking any part in Mr. Madocks’ concerns without being first allowed to do by him or at the desire of Mr. John Madocks. JW has done wonders there already. He hopes all will still be well. It will be difficult to get tenants and labourers to leave their spring sowing but one word from Mr. John or Mr. William Madocks will set ELl on the alert in a moment. Without such a sanction however he is reluctantly compelled to refuse to volunteer his services. With respect to a subscription much is to be considered. He could not venture to propose such a measure to Mr. W. Madocks. If at all, not without seeing Mr. JM. He is greatly concerned to do every justice to JW’s activity and exertions. Mrs. Lloyd and he both hope to see Mr. John Madocks in the country too. Until that time he cannot venture to interfere. P.S.
