PART OF LETTER: ?[W.A. Madocks] to ?[John Williams] WAM has a very great object in suffering the tide to flow between Ynys Cerig Ddu and the Bank. A bank across to Cerig Ddu would prevent a great current down the front of the Bank. WAM debates the best line for such a bank. JW on the spot should be able to determine. If they enclose another 100 acres it will be a great means of paying the expense. WAM would not wait for the Equinox but begin as soon as possible to make the bank from the Great Sluice to Ynys Cerrig Ddu so that if the experiment promised they would have the whole summer to complete the new bank. Re the masons. WAM would determine to do the most with the old machinery belonging to the mill. At the same time WAM fears some of it will be waste if WAM has iron works within. WAM will write to Harrison at Brymbo to measure for the iron work. WAM has found out that Harrison is no great friend of Payne. Re the six houses and Dr. Morris’ house; they should be finished out of hand. The major’s cargo is shifted and will sail immediately. JW has not mentioned if 8 March is a fair at Penmorfa....
