DRAFT WILL of the Rev.Richard Maurice of Bryn y Gwalie, co. Denbs., clerk (died 28 Feb. 1802). Leaves wife his household goods, farming stock and other chattels. Gives details of his marriage settlement of 1767 re property in the parishes of Llanfechan, and Llanfyllin, co. Montgomery. Also leaves her an annual rent charge of £100 per annum in accordance with her marriage settlement out of the property in the parish of Llangedwin, co. Denbighshire called the Bryn y Gwalie estate. Also charges his property in the parishes of Llangedwin and Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, co. Denbighshire with the sum of £3000 from which the sum of £200 is to each of his sisters. Leaves his real estate mentioned above, subject to the above charges, to his daughter Jane Maurice and then to her eldest son and his heirs. Leaves his property in parishes of Llanucha and Llanarmon-yn-Iâl [Llanarmon yn Yale], co. Denbighshire to the use of John Lloyd of Holywell, co. Flint and O. A. Poole, gent. as trustees. They are to sell his estates, settle all his debts, etc. and pay the remainder to use of his daughter Jane Maurice. Other bequests.
