CORRESPONDENCE between O. A. Poole and John Colby, receiver of the estates of Hugh Owen re a rent charge paid by Lord Newborough, arrangements re Sir Hugh Owen’s voting tenants, Malltraeth enclosures (including dralt sale notice re the lease of allotments on Malltraeth marsh 1796). Also a letter (1796, 16 June) from John Colby to Poole expressing pleasure at the way Sir Robert defeated his opponent in the elections. He had been ready to attend the election personally if Lord Bulkeley had asked him. He is pleased at the steady manner in which his nephew’s tenants conducted themselves. Also discusses some disputes which have arisen among the tenants respecting the enclosures on Malltraeth marsh and other estate business.
