COPY WILL of Rev. Hugh Owen. Relates how a marriage took place between himself and May Wilkins in 1778 and the terms of settlement. He now disposes of the £1000 marriage portion of wife - £600 to his daughter Eliza Anne Owen and Charles Owen his younger son, rest is left half to daughter Eliza Anne and her younger brother and half to his sons John and Arthur, both now in the Army. The money is to be kept as it is in bonds, securities, etc. and only the interest drawn and the survivor is to have the capital. To Eliza and younger son leaves £600 in Exchequer bonds and whatever money is in his possession at time of death. Leaves his farm in Anglesey Brynllwyd to daughter Eliza and son Charles. Also a farm in Llanllyfni. To wife leaves his house called Cottage and the farm he holds of Lord Uxbridge and all the furniture. After wife’s death, the furniture and plate may be sold or shared out, including the small cabinet and mosaic tables. His daughter is sole executrix.
