COPY LETTER: Poole to Lord Bulkeley. He discusses Lord Bulkeley’s hint that he should resign his office of Deputy Chainberlain and Chancellor of North Wales in consequence of succeeding to the Clerkship of the Peace. The office has been held by his father and himself for 33 years. Lord Bulkeley gave him no hint of this when he first mentioned the possibility of Poole becoming Clerk of the Peace. The office of Chancellor of North Wales is held by Lord Bulkeley’s will. Poole will resign both offices if he is asked to resign from one.
