Pori'r archifau

X/POOLE/224

EXPLANATION of O. A. Poole to charges made in Lord Bulkeley’s letter of 4th July. Mr. Assheton Smith first hinted the matter to him as to the propriety of presenting an address to the Marquess of Anglesey on the recent victory. Mr. Smith had promised to consult the Lord Lieutenant on the matter first. Poole had supposed from the intimacy between Lord Bulkeley and Mr. Smith that it was not necessary to inform his Lordship. Objects to the sarcastic tone of his letters and denies that he has been uncivil.
