Y mae Papurau Ystad Plastirion yn ffurfio is-grwp o fewn casgliad y cyfreithiwr Trevor Roberts. Fel y gwelir yn y catalog fe drefnwyd y dogfennau ystad, gan gynnwys gweithredoedd, setliadau a gohebiaeth (XD88/1/1-41) yn y rhan fwyaf o achosion, yn nhrefn amser, ac fe’u dilynir efo’r cyfrifon (XD88/1/42-67).
Roedd yr ystad yn cynnwys eiddo ym mhlwyfi Llanrug, Llanwnda a Llandwrog ger Caernarfon. Bu’n eiddo, gydol cyfnod y dogfennau, i deulu Rowlands, ac y mae’r rhan fwyaf o’r dogfennau’n ymwneud â’r Cadfridog Syr Hugh Rowlands (1827-l909). Ef oedd ail fab John Rowlands, a’r disgynnydd gwryw olaf o’r teulu i etifeddu’r ystad a byw ym Mhlastirion, Llanrug, cyn chwalu’r ystad yn 1918.
The Plastirion Estate Papers form a sub-group to the Trevor Roberts Solicitors collection. As the catalogue shows, the bulk of the estate papers, including deeds, settlements and correspondence, have been dealt with chronologically (XD88/1/1-41) and are followed by the accounts (XD88/1/42-67).
The estate embraced the parishes of Llanrug, Llanwnda and Llandwrog, near Caernarfon. It was under the ownership of the Rowlands family throughout the period covered, and the majority of the archive concerns Gen. Sir Hugh Rowlands (1827-1909). He was the second son of John Rowlands and the last male descendant to inherit the estate and reside in the Plastirion mansion in Llanrug before its break up in 1918.
