LETTER: Thomas Humphreys, Edern to Maurice Humphreys, at Mr. Rogers’ In Angel Street, St. Martin’s Le Grant, nr. Newgate, London. He is glad M.H. is well and not suffering from any of the disorders which afflict most of their countrymen. As he fears that a previous letter has miscarried he repeats the contents of his father’s last will. He describes his recent ailments. He is recovering slowly. He wants the name of a good oil which will kill rats which are infesting the country and something to keep the gun from rusting. He has a pain in his head which leaves him half drunk, `math ar Bendro neu Syfrdan’. Randolph Griffith; Thos. Edwardes who bought the old gun died; Evan Edward Cefn Tryddyn; Henry Peter is married to a girl from Llannor. Barley sells at 10s; Rye 13 or 14s. ; Wheat at about 20s. ; butter is sold for 5d. per lb. Beef at 3d. per lb.
