LETTER: Thomas Humphreys [Edern] to Mr. William Humphrey, his brother at Mr. Thomas Williams, saddler in Landovery co Caerns. He has dreamed a terrible dream about W.H. He has had no news of their brother who set out on 26 Aug. to London, only a line to say he had arrived safely. The hay and corn harvest were exceedingly wet, although it was more plentiful than it has been over the last two years. The fishing is worse than it has been; scarcely 9 barrels a boat. Although most of the parishoners are well a Tertian Fever in the neighbourhood has killed off many young and old alike. Wm. Bevan, Glan Sôch, David Wm. of Castellmarch’s wife, David Philip, Pwllheli, Mr. Evans [Pwllheli] and his usher. Richard. Wm. Thos of Nefyn, Henry Lloyd G ---, Cadwaladr, Brynodol and Morgan his son. Evan Richard Roberts, Llannor, Thos. Thos. Griffith. Watkin Thos. Holly Head besides many others unknown to W.H. Their father and T.H. are anxious that he comes home to winter since he cannot endure work after so long a sickness. T.H.’s advice would to be for W.H. to pitch a little shop rather than tramping. Document defective: torn.
