Pori'r archifau

XM/166/9.

LETTER: Thomas Jones, Hong Kong, to his sister, Margaret. Had heard from his brother, John, in August, but from no one else. He does not want to hear from Martha and is sorry his clothes and other effects are in her charge. He is at present on a barque as second mate but will probably be leaving soon as he does not like the Captain who wants to get a cargo to go to Australia whereas he would like to go to "Shanghae (or Japan)". Complains of the low wages. He is going to seek the grave of David W. Evans, Belan’s son who is buried there. Many new buildings have been built there since his last visit in 1852. Sends his respects to all at Snowden Street.
